West Virginia Nurses Association

The West Virginia Nurses Association (WVNA) is the professional nursing association representing all Registered Nurses (RN) in the state. It’s West Virginia’s constituent of the American Nurses Association (AMA). They represent the state’s RNs regardless of practice settings or area of specialization.

The WVNA states their mission as:

“… to ensure a unified and powerful voice for all nurses, to advocate for enhancement and access to quality, professional, healthcare services for all citizens of West Virginia, and to promote the professional development of nurses to ensure the forward progress of our profession.”

Joining the WVNA

There are two main membership options available to those Registered Nurses wanting to join: the Full Membership option and the WVNA State Only Membership option.

The Full Membership option provides the most benefits. RNs become members of not only the West Virginia Nurses Association, but also become members of the American Nurses Association as well. As such, they enjoy all of the member benefits of both nursing associations. These benefits are numerous and include discounts to all sorts of products and services from merchants across the country. They receive discounts on certifications through the ANCC. And most importantly, they have representation in and influence legislation and regulations at the local, state, and national level.

The WVNA State Only Membership option provides members only those benefits offered through WVNA.
