Rhode Island State Nurses Association

The Rhode Island State Nurses Association (RISNA) is the state’s constituent member of the American Nurses Association. As a member of RISNA, nurses have a choice of memberships. The organization now offers both a RISNA-only membership as well as a full members (i.e. membership in both RISNA and ANA).

As a RISNA-only member, nurses are eligible for many benefits. Nurses are entitled to discounted continuing education programs and workshops. They will receive notification of and and are eligible to participate in RISNA events/programs/activities. Members receive a free subscription to the RISNA newsletter and are kept up-to-date with timely and accurate information regarding the laws and rules affecting nursing in Rhode Island and nationally. RISNA-only members are even eligible to participate in all RISNA elections and committees.

Full members not only receive the above RISNA-only member benefits, but also are eligible for all ANA benefits as well.
