Nevada Nurses Association

The Nevada Nurses’ Association (NNA) has been a state affiliate of the American Nurses Association (ANA) since 1920. They have been instrumental in forging public policy and legislature to raise the standards of nursing practice and improve the quality of health care. The association represents all of Nevada’s Registered Nurses (RNs).

The association states as its mission:

“The Nevada Nurses’ Association promotes professional nursing practice through continuing education, community service, nursing leadership and legislative activities to advocate for improved health and high quality health care for citizens of Nevada. “

Membership in NNA

There are two types of memberships offered by the NNA:

  • Nevada State-Only Membership
  • Full ANA/NNA Membership

Being a member of the NNA and ANA provides RNs with many benefits. State-only members receive only NNA benefits, while full-members receive benefits from both organizations.

Nurses have the opportunity to network with peers on a local, state, and national level. By attending meetings and serving on various state and national committees and in elected positions, members will interact with nurses from all specialty areas and practice settings. Such committee work and elected positions also provide opportunities to develop one’s leadership skills.

Through the NNA and ANA, RNs can access many free or discounted products and services. They receive free subscriptions to various organization newsletters and publications. They get free and discounted continuing education. They are eligible for discounts on ANCC certification exams.
