Kansas State Nurses Association

The Kansas State Nurses Association (KSNA) was established in 1912 and represents all Registered Nurses in the state of Kansas. The organization is a constituent member of the American Nurses Association (ANA). They work to improve standards and availability of health care services, to foster higher standards in nursing, to promote professional development of nurses, and to advance the economic and general welfare of nurses.

KSNA’s mission is:

“… to promote professional nursing, to provide a unified voice for nursing in Kansas and to advocate for the health and well-being of all people.”

KSNA Membership

Membership in KSNA and ANA provides nurses with representation at the local, state, and federal levels. The organizations are constantly work for nurses and the nursing profession as well as patients.

By being a member, you not only get representation amongst legislators and policy makers, but also will be exposed to many opportunities to networks with other nurses and develop leadership skills by serving on various committees.

There are various special interest groups within the organization that allow you to work with others in your specialty including advanced practice nurses, community health nurses, gerontological nurses, psychiatric/mental health nurses, staff nurses, and nurse educators.

Members stay up to date in their field through free KSNA and ANA publications, free or discounted continuing education offerings, conferences/conventions, and more.

There are also many discounts available to members on products and services. These include things like insurance (professional liability and car insurance), travel (car rentals and hotel stays), uniforms, computers, and more.
