Georgia Nurses Association

The Georgia Nurses Association (GNA) was established in 1907. It is a professional organization of Registered Nurses and a constituent member of the American Nurses Association (ANA).

Their mission is stated as follows:

“Nurses shaping the future of professional nursing and advocating for quality healthcare”

GNA Membership

There are two membership options for RNs in Georgia wanting to join GNA. They can join as a full member which makes them a member of both GNA and ANA with full benefits and voting rights in both organizations. Or they can choose to be a state only (i.e. GNA only) member in which case they will enjoy only the benefits of and have voting rights in the GNA.

Membership in the Georgia Nurses Association and the American Nurses Association provide members with lots of great benefits. In addition to leadership opportunities within the GNA and ANA and networking opportunities with other nurses, members gain access to a wealth of members only nursing information, free publications, discounted products and services, and much more.

Members of GNA can choose from many local, regional, specialty chapters within GNA. Some of those include:

  • Athens Area Chapter
  • Atlanta VA Nurses Chapter
  • Central Savannah River Area Chapter
